Day 1: Lemosho Gate – Mti Mkubwa Camp

Distance: 7 km | Time: 3–4 hours
Begin your trek from Lemosho Gate, walking through dense rainforest filled with wildlife and birdlife. The trail is gentle and scenic, leading to Mti Mkubwa Camp for your first night.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa – Shira Camp 1

Distance: 8 km | Time: 5–6 hours
Leave the forest behind and enter moorland. The trail becomes steeper as you approach the Shira Plateau, offering wide-open views of the mountain.

Day 3: Shira Camp 1 – Shira Camp 2

Distance: 7 km | Time: 3–4 hours
A shorter trekking day across the Shira Plateau, allowing your body to adjust to altitude. Enjoy panoramic views and a relaxed pace.

Day 4: Shira Camp 2 – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp

Distance: 10 km | Time: 6–8 hours
Climb to Lava Tower (4,600m) for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” day is key for preparing your body for the summit.

Day 5: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp

Distance: 5 km | Time: 4–5 hours
Climb the famous Barranco Wall, then continue through valleys and ridges to Karanga Camp. A shorter day to help with acclimatization.

Day 6: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp – Summit – Mweka Camp

Distance: 17 km | Time: 10–14 hours
Ascend to Barafu Camp, rest, then begin your midnight summit attempt. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m) at sunrise and descend to Mweka Camp for overnight.

Day 7: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate

Distance: 10 km | Time: 3–5 hours
Final descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you receive your summit certificate and transfer back to your hotel.
