Day 1: Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut

Distance: 8 km | Time: 4–5 hours
Start at Marangu Gate and trek through lush rainforest, where you may spot monkeys and birds. Arrive at Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut

Distance: 12 km | Time: 6–7 hours
Continue through forest into moorland with open views and unique vegetation. Overnight at Horombo Hut.

Day 3: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut

Distance: 10 km | Time: 5–6 hours
Trek through alpine desert with dramatic landscapes and thinner air as you approach Kibo Hut.

Day 4: Summit – Horombo Hut

Distance: 20 km | Time: 10–12 hours
Midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). After sunrise at the summit, descend back to Horombo Hut.

Day 5: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate

Distance: 20 km | Time: 5–7 hours
Descend through moorland and forest to Marangu Gate, where you receive your certificate.
