How hard is the hike?
Easy to moderate. It’s a 40-minute walk through farms. It’s not steep, but it can be very muddy and slippery.
Can I swim?
Yes, but the water is glacial and freezing. Bring a towel and swimwear if you’re feeling brave!
What happens during the coffee tour?
It’s hands-on. You’ll husk, roast, and grind beans with the Chagga people while singing traditional songs, then drink the coffee you made.
What should I wear?
Hiking boots or sneakers with good grip (they will get dirty) and a light rain jacket.
Do I need a guide?
Yes. The trail goes through private village land and isn't marked. A guide is essential for navigation and the cultural experience.
