In the 6-day version, trekkers move at a quicker pace, making it suitable for fit hikers seeking a scenic but demanding climb. The route features rainforest, the Shira Plateau, Lava Tower, and the famous Barranco Wall, offering both beauty and adventure.

Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Big Tree Camp

Hike through lush rainforest filled with birdlife and giant trees, gradually ascending to Big Tree Camp for your first night.


Day 2: Big Tree Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Leave the forest and climb onto the open Shira Plateau, enjoying broad views and unique volcanic landscapes.


Day 3: Shira 1 to Shira 2 to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Cross the Shira Plateau to Shira 2 before ascending to Lava Tower for acclimatization. After lunch, descend into Barranco Valley for the night.


Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Climb the dramatic Barranco Wall and traverse glacial valleys to reach Karanga Camp, a key acclimatization stop.


Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Ascend to Barafu Camp, your launch point for the summit. Prepare gear and rest early.


Day 6: Barafu to Uhuru Peak, Descend to Mweka Gate

Summit under starlight and reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise. Descend via Barafu to Mweka Gate for your completion certificates.
